BRIDGE CLUB

The club meets at 7.25 for a 7.30 start every Thursday evening in Mountnessing Village Hall and it is open to both members and non-members.   A partner needs to be pre-arranged, but players can contact the Club Director, Alaric Cundy, who may be able to arrange one if necessary. The club’s website carries a wealth of news and features, including weekly results and summary statistics dating back to Spring 2006 – and plenty more!

FLOWER ARRANGERS GROUP

The St Giles Flower Arrangers are a very small but dedicated group who regularly decorate the church with a variety of flower arrangements. We work on a rota basis, in small groups, throughout the year to do the weekly flower decoration. We come together as a group to decorate the church for the main church festivals, such as Christmas and Easter and Harvest. We would like to hear from anyone who enjoys arranging flowers and can spare some time to join our friendly group. Please contact Gill (Billericay 653959) for more information.

PATCHWORK AND QUILTING GROUP

The group continues to meet twice a month in St John’s Hall. Usually we continue working on our own choice of project but from time to time one of the members arranges to teach a workshop in which all members tackle a design or technique new to them.  This year we shall be taking part in the Brentwood Arts Council Festival and on Monday 7 July we shall hold an Open Meeting with a small exhibition to which all are welcome.

SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB

The club has gained new members this year and as a result our meetings are becoming much more fun. We organise a number of activities and new members are always welcome.  You can pop in for a visit, or call our Club Organiser, Sue Savill, to arrange a suitable time to come along and meet everyone.  . We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 2pm in Mountnessing Village Hall.

LOCAL CORRESPONDENT
I can publicise forthcoming fundraising events, club or organization news/ information, or special one off events that are to take place. I feel that it is important to put Mountnessing ‘on the map’ so to speak and there really is a lot going on. The Community News section of the Gazette is well read. The editor does not promise to include every item but so far almost everything that I have sent in has been published. I must have contributions by Thursday/Friday of the week prior to the Wednesday publication. I look forward to receiving your contributions.
